Favorite Children Book

I love the book Llama Llama Red Pajamas. I love the Llama Llama Red Pajamas book because it helps children deals with separation and safety. The baby Llama got into a tizzy and scared, as he begins to holler for his mother, because he could not see her.  He hollers so loudly that it scared his mother. She thought something was seriously wrong with her baby, as she ran frantically upstairs. The mother was relieved to find nothing wrong with her baby. At a point in the story the mother shown that she got a little upset in her face expression, only because she felt her baby was acting out or having a tizzy. The mother had to explain to her baby; even though I am not there (visible where you cannot see me) I will be always near. After his mother explain everything to him, Baby Llama felt calm, safe and love followed by a kiss from mommy in the end. Also, baby Llama was able to fall asleep feeling safe.

  1. LaTonya,
I can relate to this story about the Llama and the mother saying she cannot be seen she is still there. When my daughter was 3 and attended daycare for the first time I would tell her daily when I dropped her off that she needed to be a big girl and not cry and I would be able to see her and know if she cried. Everyday when I picked her up she would ask if I was able to see that she was a big girl and didn't cry. To this day she tells me that she remembers that and can't believe she actually fell for that story. She is now 30 years old and we get to laugh about it now.
