Jobs/Roles in the ECE Community: National /Federal Level


 

The three National/Federal Level or communities of practice that appealed to me. I chose these organizations/job because they are wonderful opportunity to work in the early childhood field, where I could make a positive impact in the lives of children and their families. Children and families have an opportunity to be empower, better their lives and receive quality care/services and education.
National Association of State Board of Education

The NASBE has both an opportunity for employment and an internship program that provide an experiences to work with the state board of education, become an education leader and work together various policies. The internship also provides opportunity to work with different nonprofit organization.

General Qualifications

Currently attending an institution of higher education that allows internships and in which the student has obtained permission to participate. A beginning knowledge of federal or state government. Some working knowledge of education issues and vocabulary. An ability to think critically and analytically.

Chicago Public School:

I would apply for a position as a kindergarten teacher

Responsible for instructional planning, written lesson plans, ensures fairness in teacher-pupil relationships and exhibits an understanding and respect for students. Must be able to work as a team. Build a positive relationship with students and parents

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

All teachers new to the district must first gain eligibility in the CPS Teacher Quality Pool to be considered for teaching positions.  Information on these steps is available on the bottom of the CPS Careers page.

Illinois Action for Children:

The duties is to develop and maintain a meaningful relationship with assigned families.  To help families identify their interests, articulate their strengths and needs and accomplish and/or develop goals. To use goal-oriented family visits to support their interests and needs through the Family Partnership Plan. To work in a team setting with all staff to provide updates, determine the needs of children and provide guidance and direction to meet the individual needs of children.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work.
Two years of experience as a Caseworker or similar position.
Valid Driver’s License required.
Reliable personal transportation and insurance required.
